Three Frame Transparency
|
Thank you so much BamBam for allowing us to continue using this
Modified for PSP 7 and some steps added
for less advanced PSP users.
|
 |
This is the image we will be using.
So rightclick on the picture, choose: copy, go to PSP and go
to edit, choose: paste as new image. Use Shift+D to make copy
of image. Minimize Original. |
|
Set your Color Palette, by clicking on the colorswatch
and choosing the colors as shown below, left, with white as the
foreground and choose a color from the image for the background. |
 |
Now go to Image, Add Borders, with the settings
shown in the image above. Use your magic wand to select the
new border, go to: Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel with the settings
below.
Click ok |
 |
|
Click on the little arrow of the color swatches to
change the white to the background color and add a white border
of 30 by going to image add border. Again switch colors and add
a border of 5 by the same method. Select new border with magic
wand and again apply the bevel (PSP will remember the settings) |
|
|
This is what you should have now. Go to Image, Image
Information, and take note of the size of your Image. Make 2
copies of this image and minimize.
Now go back to your original, create another copy,
go to Image, Canvas size and add 50 pixels to the canvas size
as shown below. |
 |
|
Click ok and go to Effects, Reflection Effects,
Kaleidoscope and apply the following settings. |
Click ok. If you use your own image you may have to
change the settings to achieve an effect to your own liking. |
|
With the Kaleidoscope Image still active, Go
to Selections, Select All. Again Selections, Modify, Contract
30px. Switch to your framed image: Selection, Select all, right
click on selected image, choose copy. Switch to Kaleidoscope
image, go to Edit, Paste, choose paste into selection. Now making
sure your secondary color is still the background color, add
border of 5 px, and apply Inner Bevel with previous settings. |
 |
|
This is what should be on your PSP desktop now. (Lets
call it Main Image) Go to Image, Canvas Size and add 100 pixels
to both height and width by the same method we increased the
image that we Kaleidoscoped.
Open the two framed images that you minimized
earlier and resize one by going to Image, Image Resize, 50%,
and the second one by 35%. Now activate the 50% resized one and
copy and paste as new layer. Move this image to the top left
of the Main Image. Do the same with the 35% image and move it
to the lower right of the Main Image. See Below. |
 |
|
Go to your Layers Palette, right click on one of
the layers and choose merge visible. With your magic wand, set to 0 tolerance, select all the white areas in the frame and go to edit clear.
|
|
At this point there are two options. One is
to save the image as a Transparent Gif (If you don't know how,
go to my Tut on saving a Transparent Gif) Same site, different
Page <S> And creating a small textured patch for a seamless
background. |
|
Or we can create a background for it now. For this
instance that is what we will do. |
Go to new, size 1024width x final size of your
image plus 20px height. Flood fill with a color from your image.
Texturize with a texture of you choice. I used Plug-ins Texture,
Texturizer, with settings of Sandstone, 55%, 1.
If you don't have Texturizer and would like it, here
is where you can download it. Freebies at the Bearzcave Activate your
3 Frame Image, Copy, Activate Background Strip and paste as new
layer. Now move the image to the left with the mover tool and
center it top to bottom.
Check the Layer Palette and make sure the layer with
the 3frame image is the one active and go to Effects, 3D, Dropshadow
and use the following settings |
 |
 |
|
This is what you should have on your desktop
(greatly reduced for using on this website). Now save the image
by going to File Export, JPG Optimizer, and use the slider to
adjust the compression (Tip, you can slide the image in the preview
window around with your mouse to view all areas).
Hope you had fun. |
