Using the Gif Optimizer in PSP

 Saving as a Transparent Gif

Transparent gifs are images that you want to save with the
transparent area intact, like the one below.

This is the Image I will be using

Go to File, Export, Gif Optimizer

In the dialogue Box that opens Click on the Wizard Button

Select: Use existing Transparent Area

Click on Color Swatch and select the closest to your background Color

Select: No Choose the best colors.

Adjust the file size you want, remember you can always come back
by the way of the back button to change your setting.

This is what you will see in the final window.

Now click finish and browse to where you want to save the image

The final image inserted over the background.

Now remember if you reopen the image in PSP it will show

the background color that you told it you would have on your website

but as long as you don't change it, it will in reality remain transparent.
